Rotor Phasing is the alignment between the rotor tip and the distributor cap terminal when the spark occurs. If the alignment is incorrect, the spark can jump to the next closest terminal or another ground resulting in a misfire and loss of Power. On engines with extreme cylinder pressures, such as nitrous and supercharged applications, correct rotor phasing is crucial. More voltage is required to ionize the plug gap and if the phasing is off, the spark will look for a easier path to ground. This may result in power loss or even severe engine damage.

When you install EFI on your engine, and you lock the distributor to allow ECU to control timing. This can cause issues with rotor phasing, but the Adjustable Rotor remedies this issue!
